Ubuntu as XP Clone

This may sound strange but this is happening in China! A version of Ubuntu with the user interface of that of the XP. This is available free of cost for legal download since the price for the genuine windows is quite high for people to buy the genuine version. This introduction of Ubuntu as XP clone has raised many controversies across the world.

It is based on Ubuntu version 9.1 and it included software like Open Office, Firefox and Pidgin. Many of the Linux fan who hate windows OS. This will be a good alternative to the pirated windows that are being used by people.

Many tech gurus are of the opinion that this cloning is not going to work.It may seem interesting but it will have a lot of security and compatibility issues. But still we do think that this is a great initiative by the Chinese government to fight the piracy. This version can be improved in future based on the response it gets.This is certainly a great initiative to prevent the use of pirated software. It is a great effort and we should really appreciate it.

    What ever people say but this is good thing. We need some thing to fight piracy. Windows are taking undue advantage of their monopoly over OS.
